If you are around Oceanside, California and are planning a family road trip on your fall break, look no further than San Diego. There’s always something to do in this bustling city. At Greenleaf Rent A Car, our car rentals have traversed the Southern California highways for years now, and we know the ins and outs of what the area has to offer. Here are our top family-friendly San Diego-area hot spots.
A perfect road trip requires the perfect car, so take a van, SUV, or car rental to the highway. Slow down though. Before you get too far out of Carlsbad, stop at LEGOLAND for a fun-filled day of rides, shows, and attractions (over 60 of them). For seasonal fun, LEGOLAND is hosting “Brick-or-Treat” parties on select nights in October. You can purchase your tickets online.
The San Diego Zoo
At the top of most travel lists is the must-see San Diego Zoo. In its 100 acres of exhibits, there are over 3,700 endangered and rare animals. With shows and animal presentations throughout the day, plan on a 3-4 hour visit to see all parts of the park. The good news is that kids are free for the month of October!
The New Children’s Museum
For an interactive art experience specifically designed for children, visit The New Children’s Museum. Their exhibits are interactive, engaging, and encourage children to participate in the creative process. Currently one of their exhibits celebrates that memory we all have of the delight of jumping on the bed. They filled a room with 40 mattresses and over 160 pillow tires for children to jump on. What a perfect way to get all that energy out after a trip in the car.
If you are planning to take a family road trip to San Diego this fall, these destinations will not disappoint even the pickiest of family travelers. A car rental can make the trip even easier, especially when you use one of our fuel-efficient models. Contact Greenleaf Rent A Car online, or call us at one of our three locations to learn more about our car rentals. Your fall break is just around the corner. Don’t delay. San Diego is waiting for you.
