5 Things to Do Over Spring Break in Southern California

Spring break is right around the corner, which means that it’s time to plan a fun little getaway. Greenleaf Rent A Car will get you on the road quickly and efficiently with one of our many earth-friendly vehicle rental options. We are committed to delivering a fast, friendly, and enjoyable rental experience. Here are five Southern California destinations that your vehicle rental could take you for a little spring break jaunt.

1. Disneyland

There’s no better place for a family to visit over spring break in Southern California than Disneyland. Experience the magic of Disney with many rides and attractions at the Disneyland theme park, and unique restaurants and shops in Downtown Disney. The show-stopping fireworks are the icing on the cake.

2. Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve

Imagine red, yellow, and orange poppies as far as the eye can see. The California poppies bloom in the spring which makes this spectacular preserve a must-see in the months of March, April, and May. This would make a perfect stop on a trip designed to admire the flora and fauna of the state for anyone with an affinity for nature.

3. San Diego Zoo

Located in Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo houses over 12,000 animals that span 100 acres. This is the most visited zoo in the United States and is considered by many to be one of the best zoos in the world. You can experience the zoo on a guided tour bus that covers 75% of the park, or through an aerial view on the Skyfari overhead lift.

4. Joshua Tree National Park

Named after the Joshua trees native to the Mojave Desert, this almost-800,000 acre expansive national park truly offers otherworldly views. On a clear day, you can drive up to Keys Views to see the Salton Sea, Palm Springs, San Andreas Fault, and even Mexico. Visitors to the park enjoy hiking, bird-watching, and stargazing.

5. Solvang

Step back in time in this town that brings Danish-style architecture and charm to Southern California. Located in the Santa Ynez Valley, the “Danish capital of America” is filled with horse-drawn carriages, windmills, pubs, and thatched roofs. You can also visit the Hans Christian Andersen Park and Elverhoj Museum of History and Art.
